Yankl and the Beanstalk
A Queer Jewish pantomime set in the East End of yore. Pickle workers, a Giant and a sack of magic beans. This show will leave you gagging… for pickles, of course!
Yankl and the Beanstalk returns to The Pleasance Islington in December 2026, after our North American premiere at the 2026 Chutzpah! Festival. This show has been developed with Emily Rose Simons with support from Arts Council England, Manchester Jewish Museum, rice & beans theatre, Chutzpah! Festival for the Performing Arts and Just Something Different Productions.

The London Shpilers
London’s first Yiddish theatre company in decades, the Shpilers had our debut performances at the Courtyard Theatre & JW3 in June 2026. We are supported by the UCL Jewish Studies Department, Shoresh Trust and the Yiddish Cafe Trust.
We are continuing to perform at cabarets, festivals and elsewhere. More to come!
